Robert Boyer follows behind them and looks around the outside perimeter making notes of any hazards Oct. 1, 2020 at one of Kosovo’s largest energy plants in Obilic/Obiliq, Kosovo. When placed in the safety officer role for the Kosovo Force Regional Command-East deployment, Boyer, an Army chemical officer organic to the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon Army National Guard, never imagined that he would be tasked with a special project to visit abandoned and functioning factories around Kosovo and provide recommendations regarding chemical safety.

DEFENDER-Europe 20 Begins With 1st Combat Power Arrival

BREMERHAVEN, Germany— The first combat power into the European theater for DEFENDER-Europe 20 has rolled down the ramp of the American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier The Endurance at the port of Bremerhaven in Germany, February 20. The equipment belongs to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, deploying to Germany from Fort Stewart, Georgia. The arrival of the ARC Endurance signifies the next major step of DEFENDER-Europe 20, the largest deployment of Soldiers from the U.S. to Europe for an exercise in more than 25 years.

CAMP KARLIKI, Poland — Soldiers from 4th Infantry Division and 1st Infantry Division, are awarded coins by General Curtis Scaparrotti, the commander of the U.S. European Command and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO Allied Command Operations, on Camp Karliki, Poland, Sep. 22. Soldiers from both units are recognized for exemplary behavior and performance, prior to or during their unit's rotation. Scaparrotti stops at the location for a short visit with the Soldiers before attending a brief on the incoming unit's progress and plans to move forward. The units are in Europe operating under Atlantic Resolve. Operation Speed and Power is a joint training exercise which demonstrates U.S. Army Europe's preparedness to deliver strategic effect in Atlantic Resolve-South by showcasing the freedom of movement to maneuver and fire M1A2 Abrams anywhere along the Eastern Flank. Noble Partner 15 - CQB Team Training

U.S. and Georgian Soldiers participate in close quarters battle drills, May 13, during Exercise Noble Partner 15. The two partner nations worked in teams to clear rooms and practice tactics, learning how to communicate while working together. One of the training tools used included white tape to simulate mock room. A two-man team of a U.S. and Georgian soldiers practiced clearing the objective. The U.S. Soldiers participating in the exercise are assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, and Troop C, 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Abn. Bde. The Georgian soldiers are assigned to Company A, 12th Battalion, 1st Infantry Brigade. 2nd Cavalry Regiment maneuver with Estonian Allies for OAR

Dragoons from Iron Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, maneuver through a forest toward a simulated enemy stronghold. Their mission was to capture a high value target as part of a combined training exercise with Estonian Allies in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, March 7, 2015, in Rabassare, Estonia. The exercise saw Iron Troop Soldiers conduct urban operations while the Estonians defended the village. 3rd Sqdn., 2nd Cav.
