U.S. European Command 2024 Combined Federal Campaign - Overseas Europe

The 2024 CFC-OE campaign will be conducted between 1 September 2024 and 15 January 2025. Each fall, the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) enables Federal employees and retirees to come together to raise money and volunteer for charities that support people and communities in need across the United States and around the world. The Department of Defense is the only Federal agency that supports the CFC-Overseas Europe (CFC-OE) and U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) is assigned as the responsible agent for the European campaign. 

For those who are interested in participating, you can start your donation today by downloading the "CFC Giving" app on your phone (recommended way). You can also visit the following link, https://givecfc.org on non-government network. 

There is also a way to pledge volunteer hours to an organization you care about. Search for charities to serve at: https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/offerings.

• The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) disseminated a newly developed policy on the OCOLA process on 16 May 2024.  Updates to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) prompted changes to the OCOLA process, specifically affecting the way reductions are executed.  This latest guidance from OSD further adjusts the process to phase in reductions on a monthly basis not to exceed 2% per month and not to exceed 10% per year.   Feedback from Service Members over the past three years has been helpful in prompting improvements to the OCOLA process.

• Domestic Employees Teleworking Overseas (DETO)

The Department of Defense recently streamlined the process for DETO agreements to allow dependents of service members and DoD civilian employees working overseas to remote work for federal agencies while their sponsor is on orders overseas. As an overseas dependent you can now look for remote jobs on USAJobs. Although remote jobs on the site say "Anywhere in the U.S.", you can also apply to these jobs from overseas as well. You must still meet one of the vacancy’s hiring path considerations (Open to public, military spouses, etc.) and the hiring agency must agree to execute a DETO agreement with you."
