The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) and the Norwegian Coast Guard Vessel Svalbard sail in formation while en route to conduct joint exercises in northern Norway in the Barents Sea on Sept. 27, 2023. The Healy deployment to the Arctic Ocean represents a deepening of Arctic cooperation and strengthens the defense of the Baltic and Nordic regions.

A B-2 Spirit assigned to Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., taxis into place for a hot pit refuel at Ørland flystasjon, Brekstad, Norway, Aug. 29, 2023. By training and conducting realistic exercises in the High North U.S. forces and those of Allied and partner nations hone skills, fine-tune interoperability, nurture key relationships, and acclimate to the inherent challenges posed by fighting in the Arctic’s extreme conditions.
