Ramstein AB Operation Allies Refuge update

Ramstein Airmen, supported by U.S. Army Soldiers and Airmen across Europe, continue to support Operation Allies Refuge and care for the health and safety of individuals awaiting further transportation to the United States.

Ramstein evacuation status, as of 7:30 a.m. Aug. 27, 2021:

  • Approximately 76 U.S. Air Force aircraft have arrived to Ramstein Air Base.
  • More than 18,700 evacuees have come through Ramstein Air Base from Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar and Kabul airport, Afghanistan.
  • More than 4,100 evacuees have departed on approximately 18 flights from Ramstein Air Base to their resettlement locations.

Flights are expected to continue throughout the weekend.

The next media opportunity will be Monday, Aug. 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. Media interested in attending must provide a copy of their Identification Card and media affiliation to 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs (email: 86aw.pa@us.af.mil) no later than 5 p.m. August 28.
