U.S. European Command Deputy Commander U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Stephen M. Twitty met with Slovenian Chief of Defense, Maj. Gen. Alenka Ermenc and Ministry of Defense State Secretary Nataša Dolenc Thursday to discuss ongoing bilateral defense activities between the two nations.
The leaders discussed a broad range of topics, including military mobility and logistics, defense modernization, continued support of the BalkanMedical Task Force (BMTF). Twitty also expressed appreciation for Slovenia's contributions and efforts to U.S. and NATO missions.
Slovenia will co-host exercise Immediate Response 21 with Croatia and support U.S. and NATO missions in Latvia, Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. Slovenia is a reliable and valued ally and we appreciate its participation in NATO exercises and operations, as well as its contributions to EU and UN missions.
